Like so many of the antiquities in Egypt, the Temple of Luxor is built on a
grand scale, with huge stone columns and statues.

Much of Luxor Temple was built between 1417BC and 1379BC when New Kingdom
art was flourishing.

There are two large courtyards in Luxor Temple. One is the Court of Ramses II
with many large statues of him.

Just outside the Court of Ramses II at Luxor Temple is the Avenue of Sphinxes.
